Fonctions : Belonged to Margaret McLean (1846-1948). Margaret Vodreaux was born in Kamloops on October 15, 1846, possibly making her BC's oldest BC-Born resident. Her father was born in France, and her mother was believed to have been Native. She married Alex McLean and they farmed in the Kamloops area. Family tradition says that she was married when shw was 15 years old, but dating in the family bible suggests that she was older. They had 14 children. Three years that Margaret spent in Spokane, WA (1861-64) were the only time that she ever left the Kamloops district. In her old age she enjoyed gardening and playing poker and was affectionately known as 'Granny'. Nearing the age of 100, she still had excellent eyesight, sewing without glasses, and was sharper than people half her age. She died on August 7, 1948, nearly 102 years old.
