Fonctions : Belonged to Margaret McLean's dinnerware set. Donated by Dorothy McEwan. Margaret Vodreaux was born in Kamloops on October 15, 1946, possibly making her BC's oldest living BC-born resident. Her father was French, and her mother was believed to have been native. She married Alex McLean and they farmed in the Kamloops area. Family tradition says she married at 15, but dating in the family bible suggests she was older. They had 14 children. Except for 3 years spent in Spokane, WA (1861-64), Margaret never left the Kamloops district. In her old age she enjoyed gardening and playing poker, and was affectionately known as 'Granny'. Nearing 100, she still had excellent eyesight, sewing without glasses, and was as sharp as people half her age. She died on August 7, 1948, nearly 102 years old.
