Fonctions : Donated by Dorothy McEwan, belonged to Margaret McLean. Margaret Vodreaux was born in Kamloops on October 15, 1846, possibly making her BC's oldest BC-born resident. Her father was born in France and her mother was believed to have been native. She married Alex McLean and they farmed in the Kamloops area. Family tradition says that she married at 15, but dating in the family bible suggests that she was older. They had 14 children. Three years spent in Spokane, WA (1861-64) were the only time that Margaret left the Kamloops District. In her old age she enjoyed gardening and playing poker, and was affectionately known as 'GRanny'. At almost 100, she still had excellent eyesight, sewing without glasses, and was as sharp as people half her age. She died August 7, 1948, nearly 102 years old.
