Description: | Cream wool summer weight men's suit. Palm Beach Cloth, cotton and mohair wool. Made by the Goodall Worsted Co., Sanford, Maine, U.S.A.;;Louis Goodall, owner of the Goodall Worsted Co., maker of upholstery fabric, was also interested in making a light, wrinkle-free fabric for men's summer suits. In the early 1920s, his research department developed a suitable fabric with a cotton warp and a mohair weft, which was called "Palm Beach Cloth". In the 1930s and 1940s the Goodall Co. continued to produce "Palm Beach Cloth", but made with rayon and later nylon. |
