Description : Jacquard woven twill with paisley motifs around border with fringe.;;Skilled weavers in Norwich used a similar technique as that used by the weavers in Kashmir: a twill variation of the tapestry weaving. It was time consuming, even after the introduction of the labour saving Jacquard attachment, and Norwich shawl weavers never produced as many shawls as the weavers of Paisley, Scotland. They produced so many shawls that in the English language the term 'Paisley shawl' became to mean any Kashmir-style shawl.
