| Description : | This display has been created to provide some insight into what the home of a typical miner may look like. Included is a black and silver wood stove, a white kitchen table with a red and white tablecloth, a book from the telegraph office, a white and sliver washboard, and a number of other unidentified articles. |
| Commentaires : | This display is made to show many of the articles that may have been found in the home of a miner. The book placed on the table is a book of telegraph book messages from 1940 and 1941. Each day, the telegrapher would receive the local and world news from St. John's in Morse Code over the telegraph. He would record it in this book and then place the book in the Telegraph Office window for people to read. Also included is a black and silver wood stove, a white kitchen table with a red and white tablecloth, a white and sliver washboard, and other unidentified articles. |
