| Description : | The artifact is a black metal level that has a design through the centre. Screws hold the glass portion of the level secured inside the top surface. The bubble can still be seen in the top and side of the level. The two vertical levels are missing leaving empty spaces. |
| Commentaires : | This type of level is called a spirit (or bubble) level. The original levels consisted of half moon shaped water capsules. In the 1920s, the modern level was invented with the single bubble by Henry Ziemann. This level is still used widely today. |
