| Commentaires : | Shipyards were established in Botwood in the early 1900s. In 1905, Botwood was selected as the most suitable shipping port along the Exploits River. However, this port was not without its problems. The major issue was that the harbour in Botwood would completely fill with ice during the winter. A solution was established when railroad construction between Botwood and Grand Falls-Windsor began in 1908 to ease transportation efficiency and cost. |
