| Description : | This is a black and white photograph showing a number of Shelbourne and Lunenburg dories that were collected in order to distribute to the Burin tidal wave victims. In the photo there are approximately 14 dories which are anchored in a semi circle near a wharf that was badly damaged by the tidal wave. A large amount of debris is piled up on the wharf and the adjacent area. |
| Commentaires : | On November 18, 1929 a series of tidal waves hit the Burin Peninsula of Newfoundland. The area was devastated - provisions, gear, buildings and supplies were lost. Most devastating was the loss of 7 lives from the tidal waves. |
