Description: The artifact is a large, bronze coloured nozzle. It consists of solid metal and it has a switch in the centre that moves forward and backward to shut the flow off and on.
Narrative: American LaFrance is one of the oldest manufacturers of emergency vehicles and equipment in North America. The company was established as early as 1832. They constructed emergency vehicles and equipment for any type of emergency including horse drawn and motorized fire engines and equipment.
History of Use: Used by firefighting teams at the Newfoundland Airport.
