Description : | The artifact is a metal fan shaped device fastened onto a rectangular wooden base. There is a round dish on one side on a metal base. There is a handle attached to the fan shape that moves back and forth on a linear attachment. |
Commentaires : | This screw type throttle is probably the first piece of machinery manufactured in Gander Newfoundland airport in 1937. It was designed by FWB Smeaton Machinist and it is one of four made to control and synchronize the diesel engine producing electric power for the airport. |
