Description : | The artifact is a white translucent square of paper with a poem stamped onto it in blue ink. There is a reinforced paper string attached to the top. The stamp has writing in the centre and nursery rhyme characters and animals around the edges. The writing reads: "Sing a song of boys and girls flying through the sky; With TCA its lots of fun to be away up high!; Fly above the pretty clouds amid the stars at night; and through the day with TCA you'll see the sun so bright. |
Commentaires : | Trans-Canada airlines was a national airline that was first established in 1937 and lasted until 1965 when the name of the carrier was officially changed to Air Canada. It operated as the largest passenger airline in Canada. After World War II, TCA took over control of some passenger war planes to expand their fleet. The company was run by CNR and became the largest aviation company in Canada at the time. |
