Description :	The artifact is a navy blue coloured pilot hat with a brim. There is a crest on the front of the hat. There is a crown on the crest above the letters "RAF". Above the brim there is a leather detail that hooks like a belt along the seam.
Commentaires :	The RCAF station Gander was named in 1941 as it was used heavily by the Ferry Command for the transportation of aircraft. It became the largest (in terms of area) Air Force base in the world during World War II. The Station was used heavily by both British and American forces over the course of the war. In 1946, the military removed its presence from the station and it was promptly renamed Gander Airport.
