| Description : | The compass has a square wooden base. The wood is finished and sealed with a varnish. There is a circular brass base that has been screwed into the wood after small areas have been carved out to hold it. This brass bass holds the main part of the compass the direction indicator dial. This portion sits in the brass base that is mounted in the wood. It is held in place with pins, allowing the compass to swivel as necessary. |
