| Description : | The artifact is a grinder with a square wooden base. There is a grinding mechanism with a crank attached to the top of the base. There is a small drawer in the base also made out of wood. The metal crank mechanism is decorated with various intricate designs. The handle of the crank is also made of wood. |
| Commentaires : | This type of grinder is known as a burr-mill coffee grinder. This grinder uses two abrasive elements that crush and break the coffee beans without producing a lot of heat. This process of crushing the beans releases their natural oils which are then infused with water to make the coffee taste richer and more full bodied. |
