| Description : | A brown color cows horn that has been used as a powder horn to carry gun powder for use with firearms. It was used since the1300's when gunpowder was invented in Europe. In making a powder horn, the cows horn was first boiled and the interior scrapd clean. It was fitted with a piece of cork or wood which closed both ends of the horn. A string was attached from the smaller end to the larger end to make a sling for a hunter to carry over his shoulder. |
