Description : Square white porcelain teapot; clear glaze; cherry blossom, buds, branch motif encircling upper third of pot, painted in gold, with white, rose and blue accents; gold curled stems running along both sides of spout; gold border along lip and mouth of spout. Two applied loops at top of bowl; raffia wrapped wire handle attached. Oval of perforated holes open to applied, gently curved tapering spout. Square slighly domed lid with small round fluted knob. Small steam vent hole on one side. Cherry blossom motif repeated.
Fonctions : Runciman house artifact: house built in 1817 by Rev. John Millidge. George Runciman took possession in early 1840s. In 1978 the property transferred to Heritage Canada. Sold to private owner in 2009, at which point many artifacts from the house were given to AHS by Heritage Canada.
