| Description : | Light beige clay, with A clesr shiny glaze.Cylindrical base {2.0 cm high}has 2 decorative bands,each consisting of top white ring/middle dark blue ring/ lower white ring.These rings are slightly raised. Inverted funnel-shaped upper jug{9 cm high}, meets short{2.5 cm} neck. Applied strap handle, with vary small hole visible at bottom of handle.Maker's mark, The letter A,is visible below the handle, on the base portion of the jug. Indications of additional marks,possibly smudged before glazing. Surface of jug is randomly pitted & rough.A deep flaw in the glaze appears 3 cm down from the bottom white ring of the upperband ,with the handle to the right. The bottom of the jug is raised somewhat on the outside {3cm wide rim} The centre is depressed and measures 11.5 cm in diameter.Fine lines incised along bottom {see drawing}. |
