Commentaires : Trophy awarded to Donald Lauchlin Macdonald for his participation with the Heatherton Calf Club in 1954.  The trophy was awarded by the Knights of Columbus (KOC)  MacDonald, Donald Lauchlin, 78, of Heatherton, Antigonish County passed away on May 21, 2018, in St. Marthas Regional Hospital, Antigonish, following complications from a stroke and heart attack.  ; Donald Lauchlin MacDonald was born in Antigonish, he was the eldest son of the late Willie Dan and Ann Bernardine (Chisholm) MacDonald. Donnie was raised on the family farm in Frasers Grant and attended Frasers Grant School, St. Andrew Rural High, Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and, in 1964 he graduated from Macdonald College in Montreal.  He had a 30 year career with the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, the first two in Cape Breton and the last 28 in Antigonish.  He was a member of the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, Nova Scotia Institute of Agrology, the Hunters Club, the Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition, and a number of other farm-related organizations.  Donnie was a supporter of 4-H and loved working with the 4-H calves.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, time at the camp with the guys, and hunting especially the moose hunt.  Donnie played hockey and baseball, loved curling, and was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
