Commentaires : This is the nameplate from the HMCS Antigonish, which was a river class frigate brought into service in the Canadian Navy in 1944. She was built and served out of the base at Esquimault, BC and did a little supply duty in the North Atlantic near the end of the second world war.  ; Re:  HMCS Antigonish         Info from Barry MacKenzie, St F X student May 07Jack Barry of Miramichi, NB served on the ship Antigonish for 3 4 years during the 1950s.  He later served on the Bonaventure and Magnificant and became a chief Warrant Officer. Conversation at the Museum Mar 29 2016 with Leo Boots ChisholmLeo also tells me about the day the HMCS Antigonish visited Mulgrave.  The community were invited to tour the vessel.  A special train left Antigonish for Mulgrave and Leo and his family were among those who visited.  Leo cannot recall too many details of the visit, but he recalls the pride he felt in having a ship named after the Town.  He does remember the guns and the sleeping quarters for the sailors.  The Chisholm family hosted at least one of the sailors for a family dinner, but Leo seems to think it was actually two sailors.  He does not recall names or what was on the menu, but in those days 1944 he says that Turkey was top of the line at his home.Re:  Crewmember Christopher Bradbury aka Rob of Kelowna BC visited the museum Sep 26th, 2009.Served on the HMCS Antigonish from 1960 1963.  Was based in Esquimault during his navy career where he worked as an electrician.  Upon retirement from the navy he started a small business doing corrosion control in Edmonton, Alberta.Bill Rawlins of Alberta served on the HMCS Antigonish at the end of the war.  In the post war period he taught at a reform school and died sometime before 2005.  Information supplied by a brother of HM MacDonald.
