Commentaires : | Charles B Whidden operated a series of vessels that transported goods particularly between NS and NF Up until about 1912. The Whiddens also operated a general merchandising business on Main Street, Antigonish, specializing in flour, meal, and fish. Individual copies of each of these photos are found under the same number in Mid Size Photo Box ; The Casket 1898 CB Whidden & son have purchased the fine two-topmast schooner Onora. She was built at Bridgewater NS eight years ago from a model made by Mr R McLeod the celebrated Liverpool shipbuilder. She is classeda-1 12 years in American Record. At the opening of navigation she will enter the Newfoundland cattle trade and will run alternately with the Soudan. |
