| Description: | Long handle with wider end that has a strip attached with 16 teeth and each side of the pole has two half circles that one end is attached to pole and other to longer piece that holds teeth. |
| Narrative: | This hay rake was used by donor's father who was born in 1870 in Lower Northfield. |
| History of Use: | Antique hay rakes can take two basic forms. The earliest hay rakes were hand tools and looked much like a rake with extra space between the teeth. These are still used in some areas of the world. There are also rakes pulled by teams of horses, mules or oxen, and later, rakes pulled by tractors. |
