| Description : | Round, clear glass with a handle on each side. Four red flowers with gold tail around middle of bowl. Looks like top ridge of bowl would have had gold trim at one time. |
| Commentaires : | The sugar bowl was given to owner's son Henry & then given to his daughter (donor). It was used to put spoons in all the while donor was growing up. |
| Fonctions : | A small bowl designed for holding sugar for tea or coffee, it is an integral part of a tea set. Sugar bowls were not part of the earlier sets and was introduced in 1680 by Marquise de Seven, a social critic. The bowls were known as sugar baskets during the era of Queen Anne and offered to the guests during afternoon tea. |
