Commentaires : | This calf weaner came from the farm of John and Effie Morrison, Middle Ridge, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It was handmade on the farm using basic materials-leather and nails. The calf wore this around its head and neck. Once a calf came near his/her mother, the mother would react to the touch of nails by pushing the calf away. This trick eventually discouraged the calf from going to his mother for milk. Hence the calf was weaned. |
