Description: Two black and white picture postcards of the Bombardiers Mess at Elkins Barracks, Hartlen Point, N.S., with a descriptive note printed along the bottom. One postcard shows a dining room with tables set for breakfast with boxes of Kellogg's Corn Flakes on each table. The second postcard shows a lounge room with sofas, a table and chairs, and a piano and fireplace at the back with a door on each side of the fireplace, with one door having a sign above reading "BEVERAGE ROOM".
Narrative: Part of a lot of items donated by Johanne Jones that belonged to her father, Major J.M. Rutherford, who served with 9th Canadian Siege Battery in the First World War and 53rd Heavy Battery, 1st (Halifax) Coastal Regiment and A23 Coast and Anti-Aircraft Artillery Training Centre in the Second World War.
