| Fonctions : | This ingenious, functional belting system was invented by British Indian Army Cavalry Officer General Sir Samuel James Browne, VC, GCB, KCSI (3 October 1824 14 March 1901) to allow him to accommodate his equipment with the use of one arm. General Sir Samuel Browne lost his arm in action during the Indian Mutiny. This belt was worn by Allied Officers in the Boer, First World War., Second World War. This belt was then adopted by the Germans during the Second World War and many other countries followed. |
