Fonctions :	Gwendolyn Hales (1901-1976) was born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and began her studies in Art at Acadia University with Lewis Smith. She later worked under Vesper George, at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston. She also worked under Stanley Royale at his summer schools in Sackville, New Brunswick. She was a member of the Acadia Art Club, the Nova Scotia Society of Artists, and was an annual contributor to the Maritime Art Association exhibition.
