| Description : | Ivory satin and lace one piece dress with detachable ivory satin belt. Lace overlays satin base, falling in tiers over skirt. Ivory pearl snap buttons at front neckline. |
| Commentaires : | Wedding dress of Cora Mabel Mott (7 October 1891 - 8 September 1967), daughter of Clarence Mott (1869-1933) and Ella Mott, when she married Alfred Scott Orchard (1889-1971), son of Samuel Byron Orchard and Mary Ella Orchard (1867-1945) in St. Lukes Church, Youngs Cove, 16 June 1915. At the time of their marriage, Alfred Orchard was listed as an Anglican bachelor farmer from Whites Cove, New Brunswick. Cora Mott was an Anglican spinster from Youngs Cove. The dress is a fine example of early 20th century women's fashion that existed from c. 1910 until just after World War I. The higher and looser waist, overlaying lace and narrow skirts were typical elements of the period. |
