| Description : | May 11, 1916 Dear Jack,- I have to put this in typewtiting [sic] on account of not being able to use my forefinger yet. I am writing you, to ask if you would recommend to the Murray govt. the insertion of the two enclosed ads. in a Special Issue I propose bringing out in a few weeks. I have been in hard luck all winter, poor health, &c. [sic], and Carrie is in most miserable, and I am worried almost to health with one thing or another. I thought a special number might put a few dollars in my pocket and help me out of a hole. I will not forget the Murray govt. if they accede to your request in this regard. If I had not been managing my paper free from apparent party affiliation since the last election the Tories would have established a paper here and what that would mean to one in poor health you can well imagine. Some may tell you that the papr [sic] has tuened [sic] Tory, but you csn [sic] smile at that. Premier Murray himself is a good man, but I have no use for some of his appointmants [sic] here, who have pursued me to the limit and made my life almost a hell, particularly that precious sample, J.D. Power. I enclose you a letter I received from Dr. MacMillan some days ago. Evidently they want a man there to infuse some life into their defunct newspaper venture. It is not improbable that I may locate in B.C. before very long, if I can find a suitable location. The climate there is what appeals to us. We heard from Marion this week. She is well and makes no reference to the little trouble there with the Mexican bandits. She lives in a place far removed from these border troubles and as far as I know she is quite contented and happy. While I know that I am quite content at herabsence [sic]. She is coming to Canada in June of next year, if not before. Will you kindly write Armstrong or Murray at once suggesting that they give authority to the King's Printer, Mr. Smith, to place these ads. in (sic) our special number, which will be produced in a few weeks. Perhaps you might like to insert an ad, of the Journal-Bulletin in that issue also. With love to Carrie and Johnnie when you erite [sic] him from us all, I am, Your affectionate brother, B.
