| Description: | July 13, 1916 Dear Jack,- Received your kind letter last evening. I cannot afford to refuse to accept the kind offer of shoes for the "whole d--n family." [sic] and thank you most sincerely for the kindness that prompted the offer. The sizes are as follows:-- Carrie, 4 1-2 Florrie, 12 Marshall, 2 Earl, 9 Self, 7 We received letters from Marion and Charlie last evening and were much relieved to know that they are not in the danger zone in Mexico, being at present in Mexico City and quite safe. They will be coming out to Canada in June next and I trust will decide to live in this country. Look over the enclosed offer I have received from B.C. and let me know what you think of it. I have several openings in B.C. and if Carrie were strong enough to travel I would hav [sic] packed up ere this and gone thither. The prospects for one in Charlie's profession are many, as there are several large gold, silver and copper mines in the Kootenay dis trict [sic] and other parts of the province. We are expecting you down in your auto and we can put you and Lottie up, as we have a very nice little girl. You will let us know when you may be expected. That provincial bye-election [sic] in Ontario looks ominous. I have but little doubt but that the Liberals will be returned to power whenever an election comes, as the trend of things tend that way.
