Nova Scotia Canada Letter: Sept 17/16 Dear Father Just a line while I got the chance for all our time is pretty well occupied. Saw Lieut. Jack Rankin last week & had supper with him one night also Sergeant Angus Gillis they are both with the illegible Unit. We are kept on the jump day & night in order to keep everything looking good. We are now at another place so you see we are kept moving about. We had quite a little bombardment last night & are doing good work & expect some heavy fighting along this front & hope they will soon finish it up but it means all working towards that one end namely victory. Sorry I am not in a position to describe this Country as one has to be careful. Illegible should help all around & especially on the Eastern Front also Serbia so it must keep Germany pretty busy moving our troops about from place to place. It is nice weather at present but getting more like Fall. Hope all are well at home & that you are meeting with success & doing nicely. Your Son Jack Write Often P.S.
