| Description : | Black and white photograph taken during the grand opening ceremony of the Canso Causeway on August 13, 1955. The photo shows the HMCS Quebec, a Canadian navy vessel that was present in the Strait of Canso on this day. The sailors of the ship can be seen standing along the edge of the boat, holding hands to form a line and there are flags hung along the top of the vessel. There is an ensign flag flying on top of the bow of the ship. The number 31 can be seen on the side of the ship. |
