| Description: | This photograph was taken from the Cape Breton side on the official opening day of the Canso Causeway August 13, 1955. There are five houses up on the hill along with hundreds of people gathered on top of it. Coming up the road from the Causeway two police officers on motorcycles are leading the pipe band. On both sides of the road thousands of people are gathered. |
