| Description: | This photograph was taken during the construction of the Canso Causeway Canal from the Cape Breton side. Porcupine Mountain can be seen in the distance along with the Strait of Canso. The cofferdam is around the construction site blocking any water from entering. The canal walls are being built. A large crane can be seen on the inside of the Canal walls. A smaller crane can be seen on the left side of the photograph. There are multiple different construction materials scattered throughout the construction site. Gravel piles can be seen on either side of the Canal walls. |
