| Description : | This photograph was taken during the construction of the Canso Causeway Canal from inside the construction site of the canal. To the left side of the photograph the mainland can be seen and to the right side of the photograph Cape Breton Island can be seen. In the right foreground of the photo, a crane can be seen loading a dump truck in a small pit. To the left side of the photograph, a crane can be seen in front of the coffer dams. There is a dirt road separating the two halves of the construction site. The back half of the construction site is filled with water. There is a dirt road on the right side of the photograph. On the Back "Looking North Lock excavation and North Cofferdam. |
