| Description: | The view is looking down upon the partially completed breakwater. There are large stacks of brush and wood. Port Hood Island is visible in the background. The front of the photo is laminated. |
| Narrative: | In 1904 work began on a breakwater to connect Port Hood and Port Hood Island. The work was carried on and off over 30 years and then abandoned by the Department of Public Works. In 1937 a contract was let under the supervision of M.A. Condon of Kentville, NS who was building the Court House at the time. The bottom portion of the breakwater was constructed of stone and brush. The work stopped and nothing further was done until 1958. |
