| Description : | Pictured is a view taken from the ice at the Little River. Along the shore one can see logs that were used to stave off erosion. This was referred to breastwork. E.O. Leadbetters house is the most visible landmark. Across from Leadbetters are the house and outer buildings belonging to David Jones. In the distance are St. Peters Church, the Free Union Church, Port Hood Academy (the new one) and St. Stephens Church. A lone figure is walking. The photo is attached to a white piece of paper. This is a copy of an original photo that is ca. 1910 - ca, 1920. |
| Commentaires : | David Jones came to Port Hood in 1914 as the printer of The Port Hood Greetings. His property was located across from E.O. Leadbetters house. In the early 1930s he had a print shop built adjacent to his home. E.O. Leadbetters house was built in 1910. It was the most modern dwelling of its day. It is currently operated as Hillcrest Hall Inn. |
