| Description : | Pictured are people parading toward town from the North End of Port Hood. Schoolgirls are in the foreground and they appear to be dressed as nurses and holding Red Cross flags. There are people parading down both sides of the road. The Court House is partially visible on the left. Going up from the Court House you see the old McNamara home (now demolished), Dan Willie Gillies home, John Watts, the Angus Murphy home (now demolished) and Bowden Murphys. |
| Commentaires : | During WWII Victory Loans were used by the Canadian government to raise funds for the war. Citizens and businesses purchased bonds which became the precursor to Canada Savings Bonds. There were two War Loan drives in 1940 and they were followed by nine Victory Loan drives between June 1941 and October 1945. |
