| Commentaires : | School fairs were revived in Inverness County after World War II. They were usually held in September. In Port Hood the fair was held on the grounds of the Port Hood Academy in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Schools from the area that took part were Hawthorne, Harbourview, Dunmore, Glencoe Station, Baden, Colindale, St. Peters Convent and Port Hood Island. Fairs were open not only to students but to anyone in the surrounding community who wished to enter cows, horses, sheep, handcrafts, baked items or preserves. |
