| Commentaires : | Angus Lewis MacDonald (1890-1954) was born in Dunvegan but moved to Port Hood with his family when he was 15. He graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University, served in World War I and was a professor at Dalhousie Law School. He was premier of Nova Scotia from 1933-1945. In 1940, he was called to Ottawa by Prime Minister MacKenzie King to serve as Minister of National Defence for Naval Services. He resigned from Cabinet in 1945 after differing with MacKenzie King over conscription. Angus L returned to Nova Scotia and was premier from 1945 until his death in 1954. Father John Angus Rankin (1918-1995) served the community of Glendale for 35 years. In 1961 he organized the Scottish concerts that are still in existence today. He is considered to be the driving force behind the resurgence of Scottish music in Cape Breton. Msg. James (Jim Alex) MacLellan was from the Diocese of Edmonton |
