Description : Photograph of the corner in Port Hood. John Donald MacDougalls store has a car parked out front. Two more cars are parked across the street. Joseph Lee Harts house is visible on the right. Vincent Grahams house can just be seen at the left. The road has not yet been paved.
Commentaires : The road through Port Hood was paved in the early 1950s. John Donald MacDougall's store was built by his father, Rory, and was used as a livery stable. After the fire of 1942, John Donald had the building moved from by the family home to the Corner. He then had it remodeled to use as a store. The building was later operated as Ians Corner Store by Ian Batherson. The building was demolished December 21, 2007. Joseph Lee Hart came to Port Hood about 1875. He built a store and home at the Corner. The store burned in the fire of 1942. The house burned in 1985.
