| Description: | Portrait of Hugh Cameron. He is pictured from roughly the chest up. He is wearing his World War I army uniform. There is a blue background. The frame is dark wood with four evenly spaced carved detailing. The glass curves outwards. |
| Narrative: | Hugh Cameron was born in Port Hood to Amelia (MacLeod) and Donald Cameron. At an early age he left Port Hood for the USA to work at Apple Tree Farm which was managed by a relative. He returned to Nova Scotia to enlist in WWI. He served with the 1st Depot Battalion, Nova Scotia Regiment. After the war, Hugh lived in Massachusetts. He was a steel worker and milkman. He married Amy Wickford who was a British Home Child. Amy lived with the family of George Smith on the Company Road. |
| History of Use: | The donor was a niece of Hugh Cameron. She donated the portrait to be part of the Chestico Museum's 2006 WWI display. |
