| Commentaires : | Monsignor Colin Chisholm (1840-1928) was ordained to the priesthood in 1867 and came to Port Hood in 1868. He was the second parish priest of St. Peter's Parish and the first resident pastor. He immediately arranged for the construction of a Gothic brick church. St. Peters Church was completed in 1881. He also oversaw the construction of St. Peters Convent (1998), the parish hall (1901) and the Glebe House (1903). He received the title of Monsignor upon his fiftieth anniversary to the priesthood. In 1919 he resigned as pastor of St. Peters Parish but remained in the community as Pastor Emeritus. He is buried in the parish cemetery. |
