| Commentaires : | Sir Donald Cameron (D.C.) MacDonald was married to Mary Jane MacKay. Sir D.C. was a lawyer and treasurer for the County of Inverness. In 1911 he was appointed Inspector of Customs for Eastern Nova Scotia. On May 5, 1928 Sir D.C. was constituted a Knight of St. Gregory the Great by His Holiness Pope Pius XI in recognition of his service to the faith. The December 6, 1900 issue of the Antigonish Casket references the construction of Sir DC's new home at Freshwater, Port Hood. The home was known as Taigh na Keppoch which is Gaelic for House of Keppoch Sir DC was one of the MacDonalds of Keppoch. The phrase was etched into the glass of one of the homes windows. |
