| Narrative: | Angus "Aonghas Dubh" MacDonald (ca. 1849 - 1939) was born in Mount Young to Flora (Campbell) and Archibald MacDonald. Angus was a farmer. He was known as "the Black Piper" and was acknowledged as the premier Piper of Eastern Nova Scotia. For seventy years he entertained at many a Wedding and Fair with stirring music. To his musical accomplishments were added his stalwart figure, stately carriage, an air of importance and graceful step. He was not married. He died at the home of his niece, Sarah MacDonald in Black River, where he spent his remaining years. |
