| Description : | Portrait of Maria Albina (Watts) Smith. There is lace detail around the neck of her dress. She is wearing a necklace. The portrait has a charcoal effect. The portrait is framed. The Inner part of the frame is gilded with gold. |
| Commentaires : | Maria Albina Watts (1866-1946) was born in Port Hood to Albina (Reuell) and Parker Watts. She married Amos T. Smith of Port Hood Island in 1886. The couple resided on the Island where they raised five children Bert, Perley, Obediah, Teddie and Walter. They also raised a foster daughter Margaret Bickerton. Maria was an Elder of Jubilee United Church. She and Amos made provisions in their wills for trust funds for the upkeep of Jubilee Church. |
