| Description: | Photograph of Rev. Donald MacPherson. He appears to be wearing a cassock with his biretta on the table. The table is covered in a plaid cloth possibly the MacPherson tartan. The photo in a folder that acts as a frame. |
| Narrative: | Father Donald MacPherson was born in Shunacadie, Cape Breton County on October 3, 1872. He was ordained in Quebec City in 1901. During WWI he served as an army chaplain. He came to Port Hood in 1919, and served as parish priest until 1957 when the bishop sent him to New Glasgow for his retirement. He died there August 1, 1959 and is buried in St. Peters Parish Cemetery, Port Hood. Walter Hart Watts (1921 2006) was born on Marble Hill to Esther (Bell) & Hadley Watts. Elizabeth Bessie MacLean (1911-1978) was born in Colindale to Annie (MacDonald) and Lauchie MacLean. The couple married in Halifax on July 21, 1952. |
