| Description : | Portrait of Angus MacCormack. There is a charcoal effect to the picture. Angus is pictured from the chest up. He is wearing a suit. The portrait is in a wooden frame that is inset with a gold finish. A plaque is affixed to the front of the frame. |
| Commentaires : | Angus D. MacCormack was born at West Lake Ainslie to Margaret (MacLellan) and Allan MacCormack. Allan was one of the first settlers at West Lake Ainslie. He came there from PEI after his first wife died. Angus married Catherine MacLellan. In his younger days he was a school teacher in Inverness County and taught at Port Hood Academy. Later on he engaged in a retail business at the mouth of Black River which he continued all his life. When Municipal Councillors were created to govern local affairs in Inverness County, he was elected by the District of West Lake. He held the position until his death in 1909. |
