Description :	This strap for disciplining students features three canvas layers glued together with curved ends. A hole has been punched at one end to allow it to be hung on a nail. This was a standard strap which could be bought by teachers or schools.
Commentaires :	This was a standard issue strap. Correct strapping involved holding the student's hand at the wrist, to avoid hitting the pulse artery and to ensure the student did not withdraw the hand as the strap came down (in which case the teacher strapped his/her own leg). We offer a certificate to visitors who request a strapping at the museum. Original Accession Number: 4290 This artifact appears to be as good as new, a sign that the kindly owner used it sparingly.
