Commentaires : | Evelyn was born c.1895 and died in 1923 of tuberculosis before she was to be married. The items in the trousseau were never used. Evelyn's mother was a Yeaton, a Hantsport family which owned and ran the Yeaton Candy factory. This company made a variety of candy including butterscotch suckers, molasses kisses, barley toys, etc. The Yeaton home was located at the corner of William and Station St. in Hantsport. Evelyn attended Hantsport School and was described as a brilliant student by her teacher in an article in the Hants Journal. Evelyn took a business course about 1900-1912. A photo of Evelyn ( by Edson Graham - 1916) and also one of her grandmother, Mary J. Yeaton, are in the collection. |
